E-verification is the only way to verify a submitted ITR. To verify your submitted ITR, you can choose one of two methods: E-verify returns online or offline. Send a duly signed physical copy of the ITR-V to the CPC in Bangalore. In this article, you get to know more about income tax e verify.

  1. Go to the e-Filing portal home page and click e-Verify Return.
  2. On the e-Verify returns page, enter your PAN, select your evaluation year, enter your submitted ITR confirmation number and available mobile phone number, and click Next.
  3. Enter the 6-digit mobile OTP received on the mobile number you entered in step 2.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. Click OK if you want to electronically confirm your return 120 days or 30 days after submission.
  6. To submit a delay request, select the reason for the delay from the dropdown list and click Next.

  1. OTP is only valid for 15 minutes.
  2. You get 3 attempts to enter the correct OTP. An on-screen OTP expiration countdown timer lets you know when your OTP will expire.
  3. Click Resend OTP to generate and send a new OTP.

What Is the Last Date to E-verify ITR

Tax return verification must be completed within 120 days of filing your income tax return. If you file your ITR after the July 31, 2022 deadline (i.e. after August 1), the electronic tax return review period has been reduced to 30 days.

Demand determined:

If discrepancies are found in taxes paid or credits requested, the department will issue a demand intimation. Claims must be settled within the period specified in the claim under Section 143(1).

No Claims – No Refunds:

In situations where the department accepts the information provided by the taxpayer and issues a green card, the ITR processing status changes to “No Charge, No Refund.” This means no payment or refund of interest or taxes by/to the Beneficiary.
