Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)
The national space agency is known as the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). It is managed by the Department of Space (DOS), which is based in Bengaluru and reports directly to the Prime Minister of India.
ISRO is India’s primary agency responsible for carrying out tasks related to space-based applications, space travel, and related technology development.

In addition to providing launch and ground station services, Dhruva Space provides customers with a comprehensive one-stop shop for the purchase and management of space-based assets. The company serves civilian and military customers around the world and is active in the space, launch, and ground sectors.
Agnikul, a Chennai-based company, develops personal rockets for small satellites. It was founded in 2017 by Srinath Ravichandran, Moin SPM, and Professor SR Chakravarthy. The company’s flagship product, Agnibaan, is a small satellite rocket with a payload limit of 100 kg, capable of placing payloads in low earth orbit.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the Ministry of Space in September 2021 to allow ISRO resources and expertise to be used to test integrated 3D-printed semi-cryogenic engines and other systems. The startup tested a fully 3D-printed semi-cryogenic rocket engine.
Bellatrix Aerospace hopes to launch its own rockets in the future. But, a soak test will be conducted on the patented hall-effect thruster over the course of the following year at its laboratory at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
Bellatrix, which makes electric propulsion systems for satellites, says its thrusters could bring technology to smaller satellites rather than being used primarily in larger satellites. As the market for tiny satellites grows, Bellatrix`s test launch may be essential to its plans for an orbital launch system (OTV).
Skyroot Aerospace builds a rocket with the same capabilities as Agnikul. This is the satellite that launches the payload and eventually sends humans into orbit. The company has been lavishly developing the Vikram launcher line for the past two years. In honor of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, a TV show is named after him.
The company launched Vikram-1, Vikram-2, and 3. They cover the entire payload range from 1 kg to 700 kg, roughly equivalent to a 20% upgrade. This is not possible with the cars currently on the market.
Pixel intends to launch a constellation of more than 30 earth science microsatellites into space, while Agnikul and Skyroot Aerospace will build launch vehicles. Pixxel’s CEO and co-founder Awais Ahmed, the company planned to launch two spacecraft, with a third one undergoing testing.
The company delivers its images and data to clients once the first satellites are in orbit, making 2022 the year an Indian startup starts supplying multinational corporations with ultra-high-res satellite measurements.
